CBI’s Magnum Force Flail is engineered to be the most rugged and productive delimber/debarker in available in the market.
Designed to meet the needs of logging and wood chipping contractors across the globe, the CBI Magnum Force Flail 604 is equipped with a CAT C-18 765 hp engine and is capable of handling logs up to 24″ in diameter with capacities over 150 tph. Magnum Force Flail is the ideal machine of high production and quality, uniform wood chips or for those within the pulp and paper industry.
Material is fed into and out of the flail chamber by pivoting large diameter and high-torque top feed roll assemblies with position-sensing cylinders to achieve optimum debarking performance. All cylinders are specially designed with heavy-duty clevises and pins for long life and durability. The four-roll flail design provides optimum contact with wood to deliver maximum debarking action. Consisting of four 60″ long by 40″ diameter drums, the flail is capable of running single or dual 8-link chains and speeds of 300-800 rpm.
The 604 is designed with an independent, fully equipped Tigercat T-215. The Tigercat T-215 self-equipped knuckle boom loader comes with a 4.4 L CAT engine and has a 27′ reach. This large capacity, field-proven Tigercat loader allows operators to load more wood per grapple and is the perfect complement to the flail. For short wood processing, the Flail 604 can be supplied with a feed conveyor instead of a loader.Get More InfoFinancingTechnical Specs
Application: Soil, mulch & compost, Wood recycling & forestry
Configuration: Portable (Wheeled)
The completely enclosed system on the CBI 604 Magnum Force Flail has no exposed drive components, which effectively contains debris, reduces maintenance downtime and lowers the fire risk.
The 604 flail debarker is designed with full width, large diameter feed rollers, which ensure a continuous, high production feed. As a result, production rates up to 150 tons per hour can be achieved.

Material is fed into 604 flail bebarker and out of the flail chamber by pivoting large diameter and high-torque top feed roll assemblies with position-sensing cylinders. All cylinders are specially designed with heavy-duty clevises and pins for long life and durability. Infeed rolls monitor the height of incoming material and automatically adjust the height and speed of flail rolls, improving debarking by reducing chain wear, fiber loss, and fuel consumption.
Terex® CBI, part of the wider Terex group, is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of wood processing, biomass, and recycling equipment. CBI’s tradition of quality runs through complete lines of horizontal grinders, industrial wood chippers, flail debarkers, screens, stacking conveyors, stationary systems, and attachments.
Since 1988, CBI machines have been purpose-built to outproduce, outperform, and outlast anything in the market. Diverging from the pack of sorely inadequate wood grinders, CBI completely reimagined the value curve by producing the ultimate workhorses for unmatched production.
CBI started with the design of the CBI Grizzly Mill with its patented, extremely rugged offset-helix rotor that uses kinetic energy in order to consume less power while aggressively outperforming anything on the market in terms of throughput. This technology became the basis for product lines like Grizzly Mill® wood waste hogs, Magnum Force® horizontal grinders, and Magnum Force® chippers. From this technology, CBI grew into one of the premier wood grinder and wood chipper manufacturers in the United States and around the world.
